Details Matter

Hey there Lexington Kentucky lovebirds! Kat here, owner of Kat’s Photos LLC. Don’t forget the detail shots on your wedding day! I have a checklist of what to bring for brides and grooms in my welcome guide I send to my wedding clients. I’ve also put the list below for your convivence.

These shots can be very special and you’ll want to look back on them later. One of my favorite things to shoot is your details! I have a kit of accessories I bring with me such as ribbons, keys, stamps, ring boxes, and suede mats. Make sure to ask your florist for some loose flowers from various parts of your day! They really help elevate your detail shots!

You may be trying to cut down on wedding coverage hours to save a little bit of money. When clients do this usually the details and flat lays are the first thing to be eliminated from the day. However, I always strongly advise to keep them in your timeline for many reasons. Why should you keep them?

  • Your wedding day is full of tiny marvels, from the delicate lace on your gown to the sparkle on your ring. Flat lays and detail shots freeze these precious moments in time, turning them into timeless treasures you can revisit whenever you want to relive the magic. They add a special value to your album when you’re flipping through the pages years later.
  • Every detail tells a piece of your unique love story. Whether it’s the custom-designed invitation or the carefully chosen rings, flat lay shots document these personal touches, weaving them into the narrative of your special day. It’s like having a love story in visual form!
  • Think of flat lay detail shots as the opening scene of your wedding movie. They set the mood, build anticipation, and create a cinematic experience. It’s the prelude to the celebration that follows.
  • Let’s be real – we all want the Insta-worthy wedding posts! Flat lay shots are like the celebrities of your album. They’re the eye-catching visuals that showcase your wedding style and make your friends double-tap with hearts.
  • Years down the line, when you’re flipping through your wedding album, these flat lay shots will transport you back to the emotions and excitement of your special day. They’re like little time capsules filled with love, laughter, and all the beautiful details you chose.
  • Your wedding day is a work of art, and the details are the brushstrokes. Flat lay shots highlight the craftsmanship and artistry that goes into every element – the floral arrangements, the jewelry, the stationery. It’s a visual celebration of the talent that makes your day uniquely yours.

Again, don’t skip the details for wedding day! I have my checklist of what to bring for brides and grooms below for your convivence.
